The mighty river anges even mentioned in old indian scriptures , starts , from Gangotri in Himalayas . It passes through important north indian states of Uttar pradesh , Bihar and West Bengal . Important town like Hardwar ( Hindu holy town ) , Allahabad ( Kumbh mela) , kanpur , Patna ( CApital of Bihar ) and Kolkata are situated on its banks .
People indentity Ganga with old Hindu culture , therefore it should remain clean . Many bathings ghats and tepmles in varanasi , allahabad are situated in its banks.
We must preserve Ganga and make it clean , away from pollution , because gANGA IS SYMBOL OF TRUE INDIAN CULTURE .
